About

Fiona Yaron-Field is an artist and psychotherapist.  Author of ‘Up Close,a Mother’s View’ (Bunker Hill Publishing 2008). She  is a founding member of Shifting Perspectives – International Touring Exhibition challenging existing images of Down’s syndrome. Fiona is one of the founders of ‘Uncertain States’ a contemporary photography broadsheet. Fiona has participated in symposiums, publications and international exhibitions.

Fiona’s work focuses on the intimate .  At the heart of the work is an exploration of relationship, both the relationship to ourselves and to the ‘other’. And a belief that through deeply personal material we can transcend our own story to comment and reflect on wider social and cultural issues. Fiona’s psychotherapy background has informed and shaped much of her photographic practice.
