‘Unmasked’ is an exhibition of photographs made during participatory photography workshops. The photographers are women survivors of modern day slavery currently living in Medaille Trust safe houses. For anti slavery week, 18th-23rd October, we have brought together their work to raise awareness of the growing number of hidden men and women still in slavery today.
Masks were used as a device to protect the participants identity, yet by covering up they were free to uncover themselves. As one women said, “Behind the mask I am free to feel.” Please follow the link to see the online exhibition. Project leader Fiona Yaron-Field, Assisted by Mina Boromand.
